Katie English's vision as a composer has never appeared clearer than it does with 'Sight Seeing', ironically an album themed around the various ways one's vision can be impaired. There's a certain genius to the repetitive theme that recalls the likes of Julius Eastman's 1974 masterpiece 'Femenine.' Also reminds me of the naivety & roughhewn qualities I love about Moondog's street music. Yet, these comparisons only come proximity to something as original & strangely comforting as 'Sight Seeing.' Somewhere between Moondog discovering early electronics and Colin Stetson taking a nice relaxing holiday to a far east opium den. One of the most brilliant and intriguing pieces of music I've heard this year. Hats off to Katie English! Lost Tribe Sound
